These Terms and Conditions apply to the vehicle data services, including but not limited to the Vehicle Specifications API, Recalls API, and Technical Data API (collectively, the "Service") provided by Carstat API.
By accessing the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these terms.
Key Usage Restriction: You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, and limited license to use the data. You may not use this Service to power any product that directly competes with Carstat API offerings.
1. Acceptable Use of Data
By purchasing and using any Carstat API dataset, you represent and warrant that you will not:
- Resell or Redistribute: License, sublicense, rent, lease, or distribute the raw API data to third parties as a standalone service.
- Bulk Extraction: Use any robot, spider, or scraper to perform "bulk download" operations or create a permanent mirror of the database.
- Reverse Engineer: Attempt to decipher, decompile, or disassemble any part of the API software or data structures.
- Circumvent Limits: Use multiple API keys to exceed the maximum allowable query limits set by your subscription plan.
2. Data Accuracy & "As Is" Disclaimer
Carstat API aggregates information from various manufacturers and regulatory bodies. The Service is provided on an "As Is" and "As Available" basis.
- Carstat API does not warrant the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of technical specifications or recall information.
- Vehicle data is provided for informational purposes. Carstat API is not liable for mechanical or financial decisions made based on this data.
3. Caching and Storage Policy
To ensure data integrity and platform stability, the following caching rules apply:
- Bulk "scraping", caching or creating a permanent mirror of the Carstat API database is strictly prohibited.
4. Financial Terms
Subscriptions
Subscription plans will automatically renew for additional periods equivalent to the initial term unless terminated by you via the dashboard.
Refund Policy
No refunds will be issued for change of requirements or underutilization of API calls. Refunds may only be considered on a case-by-case basis for prolonged service outages or verified technical failures.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carstat API's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these terms shall not exceed One Hundred U.S. Dollars ($100.00).
Carstat API will not be liable for incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or computer harm resulting from the use of the Service.
6. Termination
Carstat API reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, for any breach of these Terms, including suspected scraping or unauthorized commercial exploitation.
